I was hoping to find a remote for my unit when I came across the reviews and just had to add my two cents worth! Don't remember when, how much or where I bought my system but it's been at least 3 years and no problems at all. I use the VCR the most as I find all the extra stuff on DVD's a waste of time. (Better they add another movie to use up the space!) My only complaint about the MDW2205 (besides not having a remote and that's thanks to a !** burglar!) is that it doesn't play photo CD's. Otherwise. it plays great and I've gotten my money's worth out of it.

Just wanted to add my two cents, as this is the VCR/DVD player we use daily, playing movies for my two kids, and (sometimes) us adults. We purchased it at Wal-Mart for (dude, how did you pay for this?!?), and for over two years, no problem on either side. It may not be fancy, but not everyone has a "one-star" experience with this product. We like it!
