GoVideo DV2140 DVD/VCR Combo Player/Recorder Feature

  • Combination DVD player with 4-head, hi-fi VCR plays DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, MP3/WMA CD, and JPEG image CD, plus VHS tapes
  • Progressive-scan DVD output for seamless, flicker-free images on high-definition and HD-ready TVs
  • Passes both DVD and VHS signal through both composite-video (RCA) and RF coaxial outputs--perfect for use with older TVs
  • EZ Play skips DVD menus and goes right to the start of your movie; watch a DVD and record a TV show simultaneously
  • Measures 16.9 x 3.1 x 10.8 inches (W x H x D)
Easy to set up and even easier to operate, the remarkable GoVideo DV2140 gives you a full-featured DVD and CD player to handle your movies and music--including MP3 and WMA files stored on CD-R or CD-RW--and a built-in 4-head, hi-fi stereo VCR to play your existing library of videocassettes and to record new programs.P Front-panel audio/video inputs accommodate camcorder and gaming hookups, while JPEG picture CD playback lets you watch slideshows of your digital photos. The unit's compatibility with recordable DVDs (DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW) makes it a cinch to copy your homemade discs to tape. The combo unit even lets you watch a DVD or listen to a CD while recording a TV show, and you can always take advantage of EZ Play, which bypasses DVD menus to take you right to the start of your movies.P Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DV2140's DVD section stands ready to deliver the full potential of your commercial DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Even without an HD-ready set, the component-video outputs can be set to output interlaced video, in which they help minimize line scan and digital artifacts on compatible televisions.P Composite- and S-video outputs bring DVD compatibility with nearly any television, and this unit makes hookup with older sets even easier by passing both DVD and VHS video and audio signals through its coaxial RF output--perfect for use with older TVs lacking separate audio and video inputs.P In the audio realm, 2 sets of left/right RCA analog-audio outputs (1 each for the DVD player and the VCR) channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. For enveloping home-theater audio from DVDs, both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. If you don't have a surround receiver or 6-channel speaker setup, you can still make every movie night the ultimate experience: 3D Surround simulates surround sound through 2 speakers (even the stereo speakers on your TV).P This model's 4-head VCR design ensures smooth slow-motion play (forward and reverse) and clear still-frame images, while hi-fi sound records and plays back stereo audio tracks. If you route the stereo output to an AV receiver, you can even enjoy four-channel (left, center, right, and monaural surround) Dolby Pro Logic mixes from TV and Dolby-encoded videocassettes. Convenient features include 8-event, 1-year programming, and auto clock and channel set.PbWhat's in the Box/bbr DVD/VCR combo player/recorder, a remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, and a stereo analog audio interconnect/composite-video cable. GoVideo problem - Rosemarie K. Stork -
This company is a JOKE! No customer service phone and nobody wants to answer my emails either. If the product has a warranty, what good is it if I can't get anybody to answer my calls? By the time I reach somebody it will be out of warranty! The DVD player worked about 2 weeks (max) and we take the top off and put it back on it might work sometimes and sometimes not. What a joke--DON'T buy GoVideo--not worth your money.

I had read in the past Govideo had the worst record when it came to reliabilty and repairs on their products. I also hoped they had since improved their product line. Unfortunately they have not not.br /I bought this unit at Costco for thinking I would at least (at least!) get a decent player for my bedroom. How wrong I was!br /at first everything worked fine and I was happy. The dvd player was a little clunky and noisy, as was the vcr, but it worked and played great.br /After a few months the dvd seemed to get noisier, eventually it stopped playing altogether. I opened the unit and discovered the disc drive was no longer spinning the disc. Manually spinning it would get it going temporarily, but then it would wind down again and stop.br /It now is a spare vcr and I've bought a new dvd/vcr combo player, a Toshiba. At least the vcr is still usable and I didn't really pay more than I would have for a standalone vcr.br /I will not be buying any Govideo products again.br /UPDATE: 11/2009.br /The Toshiba is now history too. Avoid any and all DVD/VCR combos!
